arriving and finding our groove

we've been going to the beach with this group for 7 years. we hope it continues for decades. when we started, i think we had 5 kids total. this trip there were 18 kids. 15 of them were age 6 or younger. i know. WOW.

this was the first time we've rented a house ON the beach. and it was SO worth it! the amount of stress it takes out by being able to just pop back and forth from the house to the beach is SO amazing!

this was the evening we all arrived. we were all getting settled and getting dinner started...but couldn't keep ourselves from getting on that sand!
we eat SO well (thanks for all the great cooks we have with us!) the first night is always mexican - ali's enchilada's, guacamole, margaritas. YUM!

we've gotten into the routine of feeding the kids around 6 - typically a slightly altered menu (quesadillas instead of enchiladas) and then the adults eat around 8 pm - once the kids are in bed (or settled) and we have a nice, quiet, ADULT meal together!

the first morning...quiet before the house wakes up...
after our baptisms, we headed right to the beach!

these 2 were so cute together all week. their older brothers are 6 weeks apart and best friends for life, looks like they are following suit! :-)
rebekah was amazing with all the kids all week!
yes, we were all in LOVE with the granger twins!!!!!!! cora and caleb

every years "groove" is slightly different, yet also the same. after we would spend the morning on the beach, we'd rinse off, then the kids would play in the pool while lunch was getting prepared.
