house full of friends

the plan was:
sat morning swim meet
quick change
hang out at the young's for the day (and the ayer's and fogarty's were coming up from richmond, too!)
ayer's and fogarty's were going to spend the night at our house before heading home on sunday
had some pretty crazy storms LATE friday night.
woke up to the swim meet being cancelled sat morning because the pool didn't have power.
i went out for a long run (12 miles!)
and came home to my house WAITING for me and wondering where i'd been!!!???
because...the young's didn't have power either.

so, we moved the party to our house at the last minute!
25 people? come on over! :-)

the young's had done SO much to prepare to host us, it was very disappointing. and our house was NOT ready to entertain the 16 kids. but, we managed.

the dads took the older kids to the pool while the younger kids napped. that was AWESOME!
i took very few pictures. i was enjoying friends and emptying the trash can and being thankful for all that the day was.

as usual, most of the pictures are of the kids.
leah, peyton, caroline - i didn't even get pictures with you! caroline - how we LOVED meeting you!!! (peyton's sister was visiting from IRELAND!! and her precious kids!)

stayed on the porch until late into the night...
breakfast sunday...
a game of kickball up at the school.
and part of a movie afterwards to recover from the heat!
oh, these 2. i can hardly stand what a blessing their friendship is!
and then you have...
and ali. somehow we manage to cover a LOT of ground in our conversations amidst all the kids! love her so much! she's held me up this past year and done it so well...
and the girls a little while after everyone left...it was an AWESOME weekend! ended it feeling very blessed. like, overflowing with blessings!
{there are many, many people in our area without power still. temps are crazy hot. pray for our area!}

I love reading about how you keep in touch with your friends who live farther away! Makes me hopeful for my friendships I'm leaving here!
