we are on week 6 of 8 weeks in our 5k training. it's going well!
but, i've been noticing that joshua is WAY ahead of us when we're running. we have to hold back for bailey. she's doing ok. she's just littler and slower.
so, i decided to let joshua (and rebekah wanted to, too, when she found out about it) set his alarm and get up early this morning and pat and i ran with him {after i ran 6 miles before THAT. i know. i just love running!} before the other kids woke up. it was fun! and we definitely moved faster!
so. bailey still needed to get in HER 5k training for the day. after breakfast, i left the other 4 kids at home to watch a show, and bailey, lincoln and i headed out.
i AM getting to the exciting part. i promise!
we can upon this:
it was big, people. like maybe 5 feet long? it's hard to tell in the picture. but it was big. and we did NOT run past it. i got closer than i would have liked to take the pictures. and we turned around and went back the other way.
{this was posed. i told them, "make a scared face!" they actually didn't seem that freaked out. i guess because i didn't freak out.}

Um. WHAT?!?!?!
Oh my goodness. I would have freaked out.
That is a HUGE snake!! So creepy.
That is so nasty! There are paths in Ashburn I now avoid running on because I've seen snakes on them. :P
Yuck! And, are you always running with your camera in hand? Or maybe it's just your phone.....
This reminds me of being a kid and finding what I thought was a big cable strung across the road. End to end, covering the road. Until I stepped on it and it slithered away;) Big old black snakes are harmless (to people), so I wouldn't be too concerned!
