guess what i did yesterday morning? a sprint triathlon!
my friend, kelly, was going to do it for the first time, so i decided to do it with her.
{us before the race...}
my cheering section! man, that was SO fun to see them!
{the triathlon is in my neighborhood! we rode our bikes from my house to the pool where the race started. can't get much more convenient, huh??}
i wish i like the bike part more...seeing as how it's half of the race!
i really felt GOOD. i did this same race 3 years ago. and felt SO awful/done/migraine-y afterwards. i felt STRONG yesterday and that's all i was hoping for!
we did it!!! {kelly did AWESOME!!}
after the race, we went to church (after i took a shower!), came home for lunch and naps, then rode our bikes to chipotle for dinner! and i'm not the least bit sore today. makes me think maybe i didn't try hard enough?? hmmm....
for anyone that it means something to, here are my times {i don't really know anything about this stuff, so i'm not sure if they are good or not. i didn't win. i wasn't last. and i felt strong. so, i felt great about it!}
swim (400 m): 9:27
t1: 3:31 (this is transition from swim to bike. unlike "real" triathletes, i basically have to put a whole outfit on over my wet bathing suit. not easy.}
bike (12 miles): 45:25
t2: 1:29
run (5k): 28:19
total: 1:28:08
i did love it. i think there are more of these in my future...

THAT IS AWESOME!!!! you totally rocked it....and how cool.is it that it goes thru your neighborhood - that makes it so. Much easier!!!
Nice meeting you in person! You probably know this already, but there's also the "Dog Days" tri in August that's the same course. Let me know if you ever want to join me for a run! :-)
