10 minutes

they have to write for 10 minutes every day.
sometimes i give them a topic. sometimes i don't.

this picture was taken a year ago today. in ethiopia. i have no idea what lincoln did. but, apparently, it was funny. i have NO regrets about taking them. i'm so so glad we did. it was worth every dollar. every ounce of worry. every minute of frustration.

this is what they wrote in their journals:

When we took off on the plane it was so cool. It felt a little weird at first but, once we were in the air it felt like we were stopped. But we were really going fast (you could tell when you looked out the window.) They had a touchscreen, served us drinks and food. It was awesome.
When we arrived in Africa it felt weird. It was way different than I thought. It was actually clean, not dirty. The funny thing was that they sweeped the sidewalks. There were some things I didn't like though such as: the hotel, breakfast, pizza.
I loved visiting Africa. It was a cool adventure. I want to adopt and visit that place again, but I want to adopt in Ethiopia because Rwanda shut down on adoption. Also the hotel is nicer. I have a heart for helping and loving other people.

On our trip to Africa the plane had all kinds of games that you could play on the seat. We were going to adopt 2 boys-Lincoln and Levi. It was very hot in Africa but fun. I love Africa a lot. I love to eat and Lincoln and Levi's gate was blue and big. The thing that I didn't like was the Gorge because there was tons and tons of flies. There weren't many people at the Gorge but there was a steep hill that it looked like you would die if you fell. I loved Africa a lot. You should go there (but it takes a long time to get there.) I love my new brothers. One is 4 and the other is 1. If you love Africa, go there. It is very quiet at the Gorge. I had a fun time.

One day we went to Africa. I was nervous about going on an airplane. My stomach hurt but it was fine. I was so excited to meet 2 little boys. We had a 19 hour plane ride to Africa. (I fixed *some* spelling mistakes  :-))
