"Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
Genesis 9:16
"They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them..."
Nehemiah 9:17
i journal. most every day. i write out my prayers, my thoughts, my desires, my frustrations. to Him. because He cares about it all - every little bit.i finished a journal this morning. i go through about 1 a year. this one is hard to put away with the others. i started it on our trip to Africa last June to meet and bring home Lincoln and Levi. there are some of the most heart-wrenching prayers in that book! but also MANY praises to Him just for who He is, for how REAL He is.
my journals used to just be in a box in the basement. but about 6 months ago, i went down and dug them all out and put them on my dresser in my room. i think the oldest one i have is from when i was in high school. because they are a way for me to REMEMBER. to remember all that He has done. to remember every day that He has been with me. the painful days. the joyful days. the monotonous days. the thrilling days.
i just typed in the word, "remember" in the Bible and there are 231 verses in the NIV that tell us to remember. God puts a RAINBOW in the sky for us to remember His promise to us! there were MANY times in the Bible where God came through for His people and they made PHYSICAL monuments so that they would remember. we are a forgetful people. we NEED to do as much as we can to remind ourselves of His faithfulness, His truths, His love.
how do you make sure you remember all that He has done for you?

I love that you kept all your journals!
i love that you write down prayers. i want to do this more, so i can see how He answers them later. what a beautiful thing. sadly, my blog is my best journal right now, but i bet i would increase my scripture reading bang for your buck if i wrote down my impressions and blessings along with reading. you are such a great example!
I LOVE this Courtney ~ God wants us to remember.......all that He has done in our lives....moment by moment, day by day. I love how you journal!
I journal too, but I also love to take pictures. The memories I remember best are the ones I have photos of. BTW, I love your blog & your Rwandan necklaces- I only have one as the rest became gifts. Also, love your homeschool ideas for the little guys; we've tried a few at our house.
