on my birthday, rebekah gave me a sweet, little folded up piece of paper that said she would take me out to dinner. AND pay for it!
she had been given a $25 gift card for HER birthday that she still hadn't used. and she wanted to use it to take ME out. precious? amazing? yes!!
so, we went out on saturday evening!
she took me to chipotle. i loved every minute and every bite. we both got the same thing. salad with chicken AND guacamole! and we each saved half for lunch the next day!
i can't believe i'm not a mom to just "little" kids anymore. but i think i like this! :-)
a WONDERFUL birthday present!!!
{and, i really debated if i should REALLY let her use her gift card on me...or pay for it myself. but, i decided to let her. it was her desire and i felt like it might make her sad if i didn't...}

Love that girl. I wish she and Lauren could be friends!
Maybe they should be penpals?!?
How precious is that!!!!!!! Oh I love REbekah's heart ~ and thinking of your time together. Oh yeah, older kids are SO fun!
Oh my! What a blessing she is.
What a beautiful SWEET girl you've raised!
Yes, it is so important to allow them to do these things for us when they want to. I have 4 "big kids"...ages 13, 14, 17, and 18 (and 2 littles...5 and 7), and I have loved the stage with my big kids, and how our relationship as grown and changed. They dont need us any less as they get older. In fact, we have found that emotionally, they need us even more! My big kids often ask to take me out for breakfast, out for coffee, or to the movies, etc. I cherish those times! Such a sweet girl you have!!
