joshua and owen

joshua and owen didn't really have a choice if they were going to be friends or not.
owen is the oldest son of some of our dearest friends, the fogarty's, and he was born 6 weeks after joshua.

they've grown up together. seen each other every year for a WEEK at the beach. and, lately, we also see them a number of other times a year (as often as we can!)

as the years have gone on, THEY become closer and closer. they are both pretty quiet. and love sports and sports cards. and each other. it's precious.

we went to massanutten with them this past weekend (actually for about 24 hours! after a saturday jammed with a 10 mile run, 3 basketball games, 1 softball practice, pat putting dirt and grass seed all over our yard, and packing to be gone we jumped in the car!) to celebrate owen's 8th birthday!

we met them for an early dinner...

then the dads and older 5 kids went to a jmu/william and mary baseball game (which, BY THE WAY, pat saw one of the kids i TAUGHT playing baseball for w&m! i guess i'm old!!)

and ali and i spent a few minutes at a playground with the little boys...

then went back to the house, put them to bed and did what we'd been WAITING for! sat on the couch and talked our heads off! :-)

levi had his first bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. and loved it!

we went for a little hike!

i didn't do this for very long. but ali did document it :-)

not much better in life than friends that have known you forever. and loved you through it all!

our time with this family is ALWAYS a blessing!!!
