morning and afternoon

i'll admit the first day of christmas break had it's...moments.

but, we had a good day!

slow morning playing in the basement. grocery shopped (like, BIG time grocery shopped! but with no time constraints, so it was ok!)

joshua went to a friend's for the afternoon. so, it was just the girls and i during the little boys' rest time!

we watched eloise at christmastime. cutest movie! i laughed out LOUD a few times! it's really cute, if you have little girls. i just asked pat if he wanted to watch it. he didn't.

this picture is my FAVORITE of the day. probably looks pretty random and not important.

but, this is what it says to me...

when bailey asked, "mom. sit with us and watch the movie." i said, "ok!" and did.
and then when she said, "mom. take a picture of my cat." i said, "ok!" and did.
sadly, i don't/can't say, "ok!" to things my kids ask a lot of the time.
i loved having the time/energy/freedom to say "ok!" and do it gladly.
i also love that you can see the eloise movie playing AND the christmas tree AND my feet propped up so relaxed-like in the background.

THEN...this evening...we had friends stop by and christmas carol at our door!!! it was SO fun! and they DROVE here to carol to us and they could REALLY sing and it was beautiful! made my heart SO happy and full!!! a sweet blessing at the end of a sweet day.

{i think today was extra sweet because of the battle our friend is fighting. pat went to see him this morning and it is not looking good. we are so sad. and overwhelmed with the reminder that life is such a gift. trying to keep our eyes on Him and lifting the Kelly's up to Him constantly.}
