there were changes this year...from the way we've done thanksgiving for years...but it ended up being a good year for there to be fewer people and simpler plans for our family. i was concerned about the day. mostly for lincoln. and it ended up being a wonderful day - for EVERYONE!
{but we MISSED our richmond family!!! we LOVE you!}
joshua showing papa how to pick his fantasy team {or something along those lines...}
lots of time to just read, play, catch up {even have REAL conversations!}
lincoln LOVED the meal! that kid can EAT! {and we have to stop him at every meal. other adoptive parents...will that ever end??}
i have such great memories of tables like this when i was a kid. of a table full of family and food and fun. i love that my kids are making the same memories!
christy, phill {my brother} and i
we got to skype with hannah!!!! for awhile! it was SO good to see her beautiful face!!!went for a little walk
christy brought a fun craft for the kids to make - pinecone ornaments
my parents did SUCH an amazing job hosting us all, making so much of the food, doing the "Mr. Wright" game for the adults, and a similar game for the kids, the adult ladies exchanged ornaments...i love all our traditions!
and we came home, put the 3 little boys to bed, and had a sleepover after watching a movie with the older 3 kids in the family room! (pat slept on the couch...i came up to bed! :-))
SO so much to be thankful for! it was a wonderful day!

Isaiah will still ask for more food than he needs, but we have gotten to the point where we will say, "no, we are all done," and he will not fight us. He is the kind of kid that will always ask for more because he is a boundary pusher!!
I suspect you may know what I mean! : )
My Isaiah has to eat all day...and does not tolerate it well when I say "all done". Full out tantrums. Not a battle I'm capable of fighting right now!
I love how you make sure your older kids have special activities with you two parents. We work really hard on this, too!
Love the pictures! :)
The eating. It may or may not stop. Mine, who has been home 5 years and is 8 years old, still always, always asks for seconds. She still just yesterday ate to the point of where she was almost crying because she ate too much. We often control her food because she still just can't. :( It makes me sad.
I loved Thanksgiving!
