end of a week

{sawyer reading a book to his babies before they go to sleep for their nap.}

we live by the week here.
which is better than by the day!
this week has done me in but it's been a good week at the same time.
it's been a different kind of hard than the last 4 months.
different is welcomed. anytime.

i pretty much lost all my "downtime" this week - at night and during rest time.
i NEED that time.
but, it was what it was and He helped me through it.
it was stretching and amazing to know He was carrying me as i went through each moment.

a lot of time was spent up at the school with the older 3 kids.
i think those were the longest stretches of time that lincoln felt like he wasn't the center of attention.
that was hard for him.
but hopefully will be good in the long run.
i made EVERY effort to focus solely on the child that's classroom i was in. i set lincoln and sawyer up with something to keep them busy. and levi was happy with a snack!
{lincoln pretty much makes sure he's the center of attention - either positively or negatively - at all times that he's awake.}

i document a lot of "cute" or "precious" things that my kids do/say that i don't want to forget. but, i was thinking today that i should document some of the things that maybe annoy me today and i don't think i will EVER want to remember...but just might want to remember one day.

rebekah - i have to remind her to brush her hair every day. she just doesn't care about stuff like that.
joshua - he's in a complaining phase. we've been working on it. when i say something he doesn't like, he says, "aww..." {meaning, "aww...i wish you didn't say that"} and all i have to do is give him a look and he fixes it to, "ok, mom!"
bailey - the VOLUME! one day i will miss hearing her from any spot in the house, right??
lincoln - never stops. moving. talking. expecting.
sawyer - his body is soft. every inch. one day he won't like me reminding him of that. now? i love it!
levi - his temper tantrums. when he has one, he runs the other direction, finds the nearest wall and screams into it. standing STRAIGHT UP! most kids fling themselves on the floor, right? not him. stands up and has his tantrum. straight into the wall!

what a week. wow. kind of glad to put it to rest.

we'll see what next week holds!
