took me more than 5 minutes - but it was worth it!

read this today and loved it.

simple. but deep.

Today’s 5 Minute Motherhood Plan

Step 1: (1 minute) Write down 1 characteristic you want to describe you as a mom.
Step 2: (1 minute) Write down 1 characteristic you hope your children have as they go off to college.
Step 3: (3 minutes) Write down 2 simple ways you can invest in those today.
Don’t over think it. Just write it. Then do it.

for me:
step 1: listener {i'm often "there" but have a hard time listening. who doesn't want to be LISTENED to?}
step 2: able to love ALL people - the easy ones and the hard ones. not for their own glory - but for His.
step 3: look at my kids' eyes when they talk to me; engage them in their disagreements - don't just say, "stop it!" but talk about how to handle it better {how to LOVE better} next time

what would your answers be??

1. Creative
2. Disciplined
3. Today I will talk to the kids about Halloween costumes, and come up with plans for making them ourselves without spending more than $10 each. Which ties into both 1 and 2, because part of discipline is fiscal discipline. I do not want the kids to go off to college not knowing how to set a budget and keep to it.
