time

i have a hard time enjoying time to myself. i don't get it that often. and i feel guilty enjoying it when i do.

this weekend was no different.

i actually "did" my hair and put on dangly earrings :-) {and i always think of the party you did for me, christy, when i wear this shirt! XOXO}

i picked up remi and catherine (they both live in my neighborhood and are good friends - although we've never really hung out a ton other than at swim meets and running together and in the neighborhood-type stuff)

we went out for mexican before we hit the road.
drove 3 1/2 hours to the beach (catherine's bro has a place there)
stopped on our way into town and got a few groceries.
got in around midnight.
to bed around 1:30 am.
i slept til 10 am!!! WOW!

slow breakfast of bagels and yogurt.
then we went for a little run.
then spent a few hours on the beach - talking, reading, napping...

we rode bikes to the beach (it was about a mile)
it was so EASY to get ready to go! took us like 2 minutes! just a tad different than if we're getting our kids ready, right??

cleaned up a bit, did a little shopping at some nearby outlets and went to dinner at 8:30 pm (one of my FAVORITE parts of time "away" - not having to care about the time!)

sunday morning we went back to the beach for a little while, then packed up to head home!

i LOVE the beach.
i LOVE reading.
i love being with girlfriends.
it was a nice, mellow, restful time away.

pat and the kids did GREAT! they went to the farm, he hung up new blinds, they had a sleepover in the family room and watched a movie - he's the BEST dad {and husband!}

and now...back to these cute things :-)
oh, how i love them {and it's "crackdown time" around here - NO more whining/complaining/arguing/etc...it's going to be a long week - but i'm ready to TAKE IT ON!}
