lincoln is 4! pat and i are 13!

yesterday was lincoln's 4th birthday.
it was so fun to watch his face all day. to sing happy birthday to him. to see ALL the kids so excited!

i made these YUMMY cinnamon roll pancakes for breakfast. and then wanted to take a nap by the time we got to church. but lincoln had LOTS of them, so i think it was worth it :-)

{got the recipe off pinterest. LOVE pinterest! follow me and i'll follow you if you're on there!}

he opened 1 present before church
a "4" shirt i made him - that he changed into RIGHT there at the table

and then, after we got home from church and ate lunch, we had cake and ice cream - and bailey gave him a crown she made at church! he got a couple gifts from us and basically had a smile on his face all day.

he looks like a happy boy, huh??

rebekah made him this card...so cute!

then, pat's parents came over and watched the kids so we could go out for an early dinner to celebrate our anniversary that was this past monday. we got home in time to put the kids to bed - bedtime is still a bit dicey - but the kids did GREAT! (we ate dinner 1/2 mile away...just in case)

we have a new goal. to make it to 50 years. only 37 more to go! :-) LOVE that man!

I think it is so special how God ordained the timing of all of this for you to be able to celebrate birthdays with both boys so early on!!!! What a special day for him! Love seeing all of you at the table! And happy 13th! It's a lucky number you know! Glad you were able to sneak out for a little bit just the two of you!

The joy in Lincoln's eyes in undeniable. It's there. Your love is in his eyes, Courtney. It's a real and evident manifestation of the love he feels from you and the rest of his new family. So when you are wondering how the he is doing, just know that every single picture I've seen of him and every time I see him in person, all I see is that joy. He is having the time of his life, and his eyes say it all. You are doing great!

Debbie said it perfectly! He does look like he is having the time of his life! And I love what Katy said, the timing of all this and the chance to celebrate birthdays together! When you actually see something come together like this it makes you wonder why in the world we ever doubt His timing. The fact that your older three ares home for the summerand they are building relationships eith each other before school starts. I think of that often! And Rebekah's card was precious. Never heard of pinterest (sp?) Will have to check that out.

Happy Anniversary! Glad you could get some time out just the two of you and it's probably fun for the grandparents to start getting that time with the kids too...on their own. :)
