hush

say it.
seriously. just say it out loud.

it FORCES you to do what it says by the way it sounds.

i've had this written on my kitchen windowsill for a few weeks.

initially, it was for the kids.
their arguing and complaining is about to drive me CRAZY!!!
we are dealing with it.
constantly.
yet, it still continues
{and so does mine...the apple doesn't fall far...}

but, it turns out, "hush" is more for me.
for my heart.
for my hands.
for my mouth {the ugly things that have come out of my mouth lately make me SO sad!}

i find myself repeating it over and over in my head as i scurry around.
it helps.
i'm a slow learner.

my foot is feeling significantly better.
which is encouraging.
yet, i've not handled it well.

i took that to mean, "go on about your business as usual." (just normal stuff...NOT running!)
except by about 5 pm every day, my foot is SCREAMING at me and i'm in tears.
every.single.day this week.

see?? slow learner i am.

 hush...

BUT there's so much to be done!

headed out this morning to hobble around walmart and sams.
and the other goal for today is to start switching the kids clothes from winter to summer.
which involves going into the storage room in the basement and lugging tubs of clothes up 2 flights of stairs.
and emptying all their drawers all over their rooms.
and having the older 2 actually TRY things on to make sure they fit...or not...
and then lugging the tubs all back downstairs.

it must be done.

a week from now we need to be packed to head to the beach for a week and i'm taking a leap of faith by hoping we need to be packing summer clothes.

i KNOW i need to make wise choices about what i do and don't do for my foot to heal.
but...how can i expect my kids to wear fleece pants and sweatshirts on the beach???

hush...

{happy friday!}

That is a word I need to hear ALL day long. I love your explanation of this. Did you write it on a plate? I like the look of that. Mind if I copy?

I HATE switching out clothes!! I need to do it. I don't want to do it and living in CO, I can probably put it off for a couple more weeks, so I will!!
