joshua's 7th birthday

joshua's birthday is today!!!

since yesterday was sunday...and the super bowl, we pretended yesterday was his birthday for the most part.
i mean, it was the perfect set up!

we gave him our gifts.

he got special mail from the fogarty's :-)
{he already made it after school today! and sawyer ruined it...and joshua RE-made it!}

he asked for these cookies instead of a cake.
{that sweatshirt was one of his gifts from us. he LOVES it!}

and then, today, sawyer and i took him a happy meal for lunch.

he was so cute and thankful and smiley :-)

this is his good friend in his class.
i love that he has a good friend.

i asked his friend to take our picture :-)

late this afternoon, he said, "this was the best birthday."
i wish i saw life from my children's perspective many times...because i was just sure it was an awful afternoon and, therefore, an awful birthday for him. it was full of homework and chores and whiny 2 yr olds and a cranky mom...but it was also full of sweet phone messages for him from friends and family.

joshua - we love you so much. you bring a constant, underlying, calm strength to our days. we love your sweet spirit and are so proud of who you are. we are honored to be your parents. happy birthday!
