friendship. that is what my heart says when i look at this picture. i stole it from leah, which is why i'm actually IN the picture! the emotion that wells up in me when i look at this one picture is hard to express. i'm not sure there is a word. it just feel so...full...full of love and friendship and fun and depth and history. a snapshot of our new years eve. with friends we've grown up with. we met each other when we were "kids" but thought we weren't. we've been in each other's weddings, celebrated BIG accomplishments like ironmans and first home ownership. precious friends married into the group. and how thankful i am for that! it was not a given that that would work out so well. but i can't imagine our group without them! we've had lots of kids between us all. they welcomed our growing family (we were the first to have kids) with excitement...even when WE weren't sure we were excited...yet. we've played sports together, run races together, vacationed together, supported each other through hard seasons, rejoiced with each other through fun seasons, made new recipes together, had lots of parties together. the parties. they are kinda like slipping into your comfy pants at the end of a long day...everyone just slips in and we pick right up where we left off. it is quite possible that a moment in time like this could have included joking, deep questions, intent listening, and answering a child's question all at the same time. but, always friendship. we are so blessed to be so rich in friendship.

i got chills too! i am touched by your sweet words. I would say the very same thing. When we are all together I feel the need to pinch myself! We are so blessed.
