did you know i love to read?? ;-)
these are the books i've read the last couple months...
The Body Book by Nancy Rue - Rebekah and I are reading it together...we each read it and we have a "date" every Wednesday afternoon to talk about it. that's all i have to say about that. she's changing. i'm trying to embrace it. there's a whole series of these books...and a fiction book that goes along with each "information" book (this is the first "information" book)
Bringing Up Girls by James Dobson - excellent book for parents of girls of ALL ages...seriously! even if your daughter is 13 you should read it!
breathe by keri wyatt kent - this is the 3rd time i've read this book. talks a lot about creating SPACE in our lives. and how to REST. i will be reading it again, i'm sure! it's great. many books i read i get from the library. some i buy - because i know i want to own them and love lending them out. but there are a very few that i don't even lend out...because i never know when i might need to pick it up - this is one of those!
healing stones by nancy rue - same author as the series above that i'm reading with rebekah. but this is a fiction book for adults (thanks for the recommendation, jennifer!) um...wow...i've stayed up WAY too late every night this week reading it. it's pretty deep. but GOOD. kinda makes me feel like i've been to therapy or something! in a good way. there are a couple more and i have them requested at the library already!
run like a mother - a friend bought this for me and i loved it! just lots of fun "running" motivation and tips and stories!
bittersweet by shauna niequist - there's no secret to my love of this book. you should own it. it's another that i can't part with...yet...i will eventually lend it out...but i'm still going back to it regularly right now...
somewhere more holy by tony woodlief - i liked this book. it was written by a man...a father...that made some "big" mistakes and his story...i liked reading a book from a husband/father's perspective. so many are from us women, you know?? he was also funny, which was, well, fun!
a million miles in a thousand years by donald miller - this is not a new book...i think i started reading blue like jazz, which he also wrote, once. but couldn't get into it so didn't finish. i don't know what made me get and actually pick up this book? but i did. and i wasn't impressed at first...but definitely got into it. he makes some good points and it was a quick read. i'm glad i read it...
breaking free by beth moore - just started this this week. i've heard it's a great study for years. and i love her. it's about "surrender" and i'm certain there are things in my life i need to surrender. so, i'm reading it!
and...these are the pile that i'm reading next!

ohhhhh LOVE this....THANKS!!!!!!
Thanks for the great recommendations!
I agree with you - "Bringing Up Girls" was AMAZING. We don't even have kids yet, but it totally rocked my child advocacy world. Explains alot about why girls and women in our world today, are the way they are...
Enjoy your next stack :)
i love hinds feet on high places... i'd be interested to know what you think!
ugh. I just got sick to my stomach cause I'm gonna order the Body book for me and Lauren and Avery to read.
When did we get this old?! And them...dont even get me started on them getting this old!
Thanks Courtney
and Bringing Up Girls - LOVE IT
bittersweet was great.
but the don miller one...careful, that one might leave you wearing your purple summer dress in the living room in the middle of January, with a 5 year-old and a tea party =)
i heard healing stones was really good. now i'll have to read it.
i couldn't do blue like jazz either. :)
my pile of books keeps getting bigger. i can't keep up with myself!
love all the reviews.
