happy st patrick's day!

our morning started off with a leprechaun trail that led to a pail filled with M&M's and jelly beans.

everyone wore fun green outfits.
bailey has hardly any green...everything is PINK! i scrounged up this jacket for her.
she wore it all day "so she didn't get a pinch!"

we had green eggs and rainbow pancakes for dinner.
{you know, since leprechauns look for or live at the end of rainbows or something, right??}

we ate out in the porch for the first time this year!
the weather was GORGEOUS today.
PERFECTION.

her expression while telling stories is just about too much.

"hey, sawyer..."

"...did you like seeing the puppies today?" :-)
{those are a combo of green eggs and green boogers in his nose. nice, huh??}

and, just to keep it real...it wasn't all perfection and rainbows...

about 5:30 pm i hit a wall. out of nowhere.
and i still had dinner and baths ahead of me.
making those rainbow pancakes about killed me.
it took for.ev.er!
and bailey sitting there talking my ear off didn't help.
i might have said, "bailey, if you say one more word i think i'm going to scream!"
i'm a great mom, huh??
by the time we sat down to eat i said,
"we are having NO syrup and NO sugar {we normally have confectioner's sugar with our pancakes because i don't like syrup} because i don't want to clean the mess up."
now i'm an even better mom :-)

i managed to get through dinner and clean up and baths and teethbrushing and sawyer to bed.
for the last few minutes while we waited for pat to get home the kids sat on the couch and read books and i laid on the floor pretending to not be there.

the second pat walked in, i crawled to my bed in search of some quiet.
i couldn't take their voices for one.more.minute.

how awful is that??

i'm not sure if i hope i'm getting sick or what?
i'm not normally so short on patience.

thankful for peace and quiet right now.
so so thankful.

Um, that's kindof a werid comment ahead of mine :)
How cute are those rainbow pancakes!? THAT'S what your kids will remember! The noise - oh, the noise. At the end of the day I often can't take another sound either. It's so.much.noise.
YOU, Courtney, are a GREAT mom!!!

LOL....I hit the same wall at 5:30, or my kids did and of course it happened in front of friends...isn't that always great. I like the leprechaun foot print cut outs, I actually colored foot prints on our tiles in washable marker and put food coloring in all the toilets, but I like your idea with the rainbow pancakes going to have to remember that one.
