valentine's day is coming...

it's not my favorite holiday.
kinda cheesy, if you ask me.

but, the last couple years i've chosen to embrace it and use it to teach my kids.

teach them how to love.

if we are honest, we all need to practice "love", don't we??

1 John 4:10-12 (The Message)

God Is Love
7-10My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn't know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can't know him if you don't love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they've done to our relationship with God.

11-12My dear, dear friends, if God loved us like this, we certainly ought to love each other. No one has seen God, ever. But if we love one another, God dwells deeply within us, and his love becomes complete in us—perfect love!

i made these hearts last year.
i forget where i saw the idea {i'm certain i "stole" it from somewhere...that's where all my great ideas come from...someone else :-)}

each one has a pocket on the front.
and each person has a heart.
you leave it on your bed and others can put sweet love notes in your heart at any time!

it was such a great thing last year....lots of love notes and kind words and hugs...

i had every intention of offering to make these and sell them to you...to help pay for our adoption. but i can't. i just can't.

so...maybe you can make them yourself?
you could even do something similar out of paper!
no need to sew!

you'll be glad you did!

{i'm working on a new project for this valentine's day! if i actually pull it off, i'll show you! but i wanted to post this so you'd have time to make something if you wanted!!}

And I might steal that tradition this year...but we will use paper hearts...not real pillows.
This mommy cant sew! ;)

meant to tell you, you can also fill these with rice and put in the freezer for a fun ice pack or the microwave for a heating pad.
