these are just some of the recipes i made over the last month...i had great intentions of pictures, etc...but didn't get to it...let's just imagine...
Ham Biscuits {i've had these at wedding showers, baby showers, Christmas brunches...and we made them as part of our very non-traditional Christmas dinner!}
2 pkg rolls
1 pkg swiss cheese
1/2 lb deli ham
1 stick margarine
1 1/2 tsp Worshteshire (SP? sorry..to lazy to go look...) sauce
1 1/2 tsp poppy seeds
1 1/2 tsp dry mustard
1 1/2 tsp minced onion
Split rolls. Put ham and cheese (cut into little squares) on each roll. Put on baking sheet.
Melt remaining ingredients and simmer 10 minutes.
Spoon 1 T on top of each roll.
Put in 300 degree oven and warm for 10 minutes.
Hugs and Chips Cheesecake
i've been making this recipe since right after we got married...lots of memories...
6 oz cream cheese, softened
14 oz sweetened condensed milk
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips
1 tsp flour
1 chocolate pie crust (i normally use oreo crust)
Glaze:
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup whipping cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. With mixer, beat cheese until fluffy, gradually beat in condensed milk until smooth. Add egg and vanilla; mix well.
Toss chips with flour, stir into cheese mixture. Pour into crust.
Bake 35 minutes or until center springs back when lightly touched. Cool and top with glaze. Refrigerate leftovers.
Glaze: Melt chocolate chips with whipping cream, cook and stir until thickened and smooth. Immediately spread over pie.
Viennese Crescents
my favorite favorite Christmas cookie!!
1 cup confectioners sugar
1 cup pecans (chopped)
1 cup margarine (room temp)
3/4 cup sugar
2 1/2 cup glour
1 tsp vanilla
Mix nuts, sugar (granulated...not confectioners), margarine, flour and vanilla to a smooth dough. You'll have to use your hands...it's thick. Shape into crescents.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet until lightly browned (15-18 minutes) at 350 degrees.
Cool 1 minutes.
Roll in powdered sugar.
Buttermilk Pound Cake
this is my grandma's...you should feel very honored to have this in your possession :-)
Beat 1 cup crisco and 3 cups sugar {if you're going to use splenda...don't even make this cake...it's meant to be like HEAVEN and i think REAL sugar will be in heaven :-)}. Add 5 eggs one at a time. Add 3 cups flour, 1/4 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt and 1 1/2 tsp vanilla. Add 1 cup buttermilk. Pour in greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
UH-mazing!!!
