the kids played with this box for 2 days in the house.
then they decided it could float.
and begged me for a full day to take it to the creek and try it out.
once the temperature reached 30 degrees {the ONLY day this week!} we headed out.
they packed paddles {shovels} in the "boat" and even packed water bottles for their big excursion. the agreement was that they had to carry it the WHOLE way.
we got to the creek and it was frozen solid!
**edited!!! the creek is just a couple inches deep...even if they fell through just their shoes would have gotten wet! NO DANGER OF DROWNING!!! :-)
hmmm...they switched gears quickly.
this is also fun!
floating ON the creek in our boat :-)
then they explored...
sawyer was content to watch from here...for like 2 seconds.
then i spent the whole time trying to keep him from slipping on the ice and cracking his head open.
see the other 3 WAY back there??
how cute is he?
i really hope one of our African kids is 18 months or younger...i really love this age and would love to do it one more time!
love how they bend over and pick things up...just bending from the waist...
in her princess pj's.
she's worn them every night since she got them from grandma and papa.
on thursday, she wore them until she had to get ready for ballet.
then when we got home from ballet, she put them back on for the rest of the day.
telling me something very important.
now that it's 2 days later i can't remember what it was...but i do know if was very important :-)
and they carried the boat all the way home.
there was some complaining...and struggling...but they did it.
ready for spring and adventures without frozen fingers and toes...

That is SO like something my kids would do. Cute, cute. Good for you for not squelching their plan, but letting them take it to the creek! You are a great mom Courtney.
