so today was "fun day."
we tried and tried to come up with a good plan...
skiing? snowtubing? right...not with sawyer.
go stay in a hotel with a pool? that's fun til bedtime.
it's hard to come up with a fun idea with 4 kids {with 1 baby!} in the middle of winter.
so this is what we came up with::
last night we put slips of paper with "breakfast" "lunch" "dinner" on them.
let each kid pick one.
they got to pick where we would eat that meal.
the only rule was NO CHUCK E CHEESE! {aren't we mean??}
so...joshua picked Panera for breakfast
and we played in between meals
{it was insanely freezing and windy today! a miserable day to be in and out of the car a million times...}
bailey picked red robin for lunch
{sawyer was already over it all...he is impossible lately...i basically want to throw him out the window right now...kidding...totally kidding...}
we went overboard and gave them each $1 to play one of the games in red robin.
came home and had quiet time.
then we went bowling!
pat and i took turns holding the wild bull...i mean, sawyer.
i really think everyone had fun!
SCORE!
then rebekah chose IHOP for dinner.
{all 3 dining choices were within 2 miles of our house...that was nice!}
but...honestly...by mid-afternoon i was done.
it felt like maybe it was too much.
pat redeemed it a lot by asking some "quality" questions at dinner...we went around and said what we were most thankful for and then said what we loved the most about each other and then what we struggle with the most {arguing, hitting, talking like a baby, being tired and being impatient were our answers} and he encouraged us to pray for each other for those things.
i hope it was a fun day for them.
maybe not the most quality, inspiring day...but is that maybe ok sometimes??
i need a run badly...

UGH---I feel like that a lot lately with dear little Kallen---love the description of the wild bull---went to dinner the other night for Brian's birthday, and that's EXACTLY what we had on our hands!!! :)
xoxoxoxo!
Love the bowling pictures....such fun colors!
Ok, so your comment about wanting to throw Sawyer out the window made me laugh out loud! We've all been there. What a fun mom and dad you are. Have a great rest of the week! :)
I came across this blog of a family who is adopting from Rwanda (actually they are there now) and thought you might be interested. Of course, most likely you have already found them since you are so on top of things, but I figured I'd post their link just in case. :-) http://cropffamilyrwandaadoption.blogspot.com/
ooooh good dinner questions. especially the struggling ones. i'd love to hear how my kids would answer that one. and you crack me up with your comments about sawyer. totally crack me up.
