whatever you do

i read the following this morning...and God was gracious enough to bring it back to my mind later in the morning as i was watching bailey rake a pile of leaves. {she chose to...i didn't make her...it was all "for fun!"} she was working at it with all her heart...at one point she even put the rake down and got on all fours and used her hands to place the leaves "just right"...just to jump in them and mess it up! i want to seek after Him with all my heart...and sometimes that means doing what my children need me to do instead of what i want to do...doing the laundry::AGAIN! with a cheerful heart instead of a complaining, bitter heart...or digging deep for that last bit of patience to end the day well instead of snapping at them...or speaking kindly instead of harshly...SO many opportunities each day to do whatever i do for the glory of God.

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
1 Corinthians 10:31

"It takes Almighty God Incarnate in us to do the meanest duty to the glory of God.

It takes God's Spirit in us to make us so absolutely humanly His that we are utterly unnoticeable. The test of the life of a saint is not success, but faithfulness in human life as it actually is.

We will set up success in Christian work as the aim; the aim is to manifest the glory of God in human life, to live the life hidden with Christ in God in human conditions.

Our human relationships are the actual conditions in which the ideal life of God is to be exhibited."

i just had to "raise my voice" in order to be heard a few moments ago. had to walk away because i did not have patience or grace for the moment... and this is what i read. thank you for timely words!

after all...to be human is to be HUMAN! there is no "just" in the preface to that! To be human is to be what God declared the high point of creation- his treasure and in what he delighted most greatly.

To be human rocks. so much potential there.

Love that.

And to be 4 and jump in leaves? I mean- lovely. just lovely. I need to post our leaf jumping from saturday... my 4 was in her frog costume and white patent pleather shoes... of course!

much love-
