in theory

decorating for Christmas is a fun, enjoyable time together.
pictures of smiles and christmas music playing the background and happy children and happy parents go through your mind...

in reality...

it is not.

I learned something this year.
I decorated the whole house with only Lauren and Avery for help.
We will do the tree together as a family tomorrow night.
The other way was No fun. This will be much better! ;)

I'm with you, if I could keep things to the bare minimum and not let the kids get so overwhelmed, I think we would be in much better shape, and of course once it's all decorated I love it, but taking it down in January another story,...

My big prayer this month has been to feel the JOY and not the stress. To enjoy the kids enjoying Christmas. To enjoy it myself. I think that helped my attitude a lot...and my decorating. I let the boys unpack and help me with a lot more. They loved it and I just took my time and did it over a few days. And they were awesome with the tree this year. So I actually did enjoy the process this year...it was nice to feel that way about it!
