can't wait for OUR adoption video!!!
i read Adopted for Life a couple months ago.
it was one of those books that i read about somewhere.
immediately went to amazon and ordered it {that darn "1-click" thing!}
and started reading it the day it arrived.
even though i had a stack next to my bed just waiting to be the next to be read!
i knew it was going to be good.
and it was.
i think everyone should read it...not just those that have or are thinking about adopting.
anyone that has been adopted into God's family will get a lot out of this book.
when i read a good book, i underline and turn down page corners.
it's ridiculous how many page corners are turned down.
i'll just share 1 quote with you...and then i have something AMAZING to share!
"But all of us are called to be compassionate. All of us are called to remember the poor. All of us are called to remember the fatherless and the widows. That will look different in our different lives, with the different situations and resources God has given us. But for all of there'll be a judgement to test the genuineness of our faith. And for some of us, there'll be some orphan faces there."
Russell D Moore
i {obviously} LOVE adoption...talking about it, reading about it, DOING it...and i just want to put something out there. i don't ever want my passion for it to come across as something i think everyone should do. and that you aren't being obedient if you aren't adopting. i believe that WE {Pat and I} wouldn't be obedient if we didn't follow this path...God has clearly led us here...but that is not the case for everyone.
ok.
i've seen quite a few of these.
slideshows of families bringing their adopted children home.
they are all touching.
but there is just something about this family {they have 4 children by birth, adopted another little boy a year or so ago...and just brought their second precious boy home last week}
i've watched it 3 times and SOBBED every time.
maybe it's because it's the first one i've seen now that we are really in the midst of this process.
or maybe it's because one of their daughters reminds me SO much of Rebekah.
i don't know.
i had the kids watch it and they have talked about it quite a bit since.
i think it helped them process a bit more what is coming one day...
i asked this sweet mom if i could share her video and she graciously said, "yes!"
this is especially for all of our extended family and close friends...we can't WAIT for you to be a part of this day with us!...welcoming our children HOME...
grab a kleenex!
and then go here.
{anyone out there know how to make these slideshows with music that wants to make one for us in about a year??? :-)}
oh, i can't WAIT for ours!!!

What a beautiful family....inside and out! That will surely be a marvelous day when your children are ALL together!!
I mean I know I'm pregnant, but not sure I'm supposed to cry like that. The look on that little boys face as they pushed him through the doors and he saw all those people waiting there for HIM, was just PRICELESS. And not to mention what a cute little face it was too! What a blessing. For him. For them. For all involved. Thanks so much for sharing your story and letting us all join you for the ride. I can't wait to be waiting in the airport for you two guys to come through that door!
Oh my, visions of what is to come...precious, just precious. Thanks for sharing. I also LOVE Kate's graphics for Water 4 Christmas!
That is the most beautiful video I've ever seen. I have hope that will be in our family's future!
