**edited: here's how to make the bubbles!
basically, you cut the bottom off the water bottle. then use a rubber band to hold a damp washcloth over the bottom. dip the washcloth in a bowl of dishsoap and blow! FUN!
fun pictures to keep you interested while i "talk"...
{the first set of pictures are a craft ali did with the kids...SO fun!}
remember the angry ocean?
well, it totally wore off on me.
remember...i'm a BEACH girl.
and when i'm at the beach i want to be ON the beach.
in the SUN!
HOT and getting TAN!
getting sandy and being in the waves in my bathing suit!
i woke up tuesday morning.
to another cold, WINDY, rainy day and just about lost it.
{i also tried to go for a bike ride. and my chain popped off 2 seconds into my ride. instead i walked to the ocean and yelled at it in my mind. so THERE!}
pat and i got in a fight.
i cried for a little bit.
let some of it out on those around me {i'm very mature, ya'll!}
and after that i let "it" go.
i'm so spoiled.
we have literally never had a vacation with bad weather.
i have always struggled with having expectations of things when i shouldn't.
and i learned that stupid lesson one.more.time.
i'd like to think it's the last time...but i'm pretty sure it's not.
i stopped being a brat.
looked around me.
at my family. my husband that isn't at WORK!
so many friends that i love so much!
and started trying to make the most of it.
it wasn't perfect.
we had 10 kids that were trying to sleep and eat and get their energy out at all different times of the day {and night} and 10 adults that were also trying to have some sort of "fun" vacation.
so we all had our moments.
but, at the end of it all, it was great.
we had lots of fun memories.
the weather even forced us to be more creative and do things we'd never do.
like go "crabbing" at night.
{we hadn't set FOOT on the beach all day! and it was making some of us crazy!!!}
"mr. ayers" caught one with his hand.
pretty sure this made him the kids hero for life. :-)
our house was a good 1/2 mile from the beach.
so we'd all pile in to get there and back.
12 people in our van that night.
the kids thought it was the best!

i love the water bottles idea - totally going to steal that.
and as for expectations - that is the hardest thing! especially when it's vacation and you've been looking SO forward to it...and then something goes awry. frustrating i know.
