tuesday at the beach

it was a great day.
woke up before the kids.
so i was able to be up and out and running before they were up!
that always seems to start my day off great.
and my run was one of those that is just PERFECT.
my 6 miles felt like 3 miles (and i quit at 6...didn't want to ruin it! :-))

then, when i got back, rebekah said she wanted to run...and it turned into ALL of these people running together!

we were quite a sight!
{we just ran 1 mile}
but JOSHUA just flat out ran the whole mile!
i had NO idea he could do that!

we ended up spending the whole morning at the pool.
derek and his family {from the other house} came over and played with us some...and we just ended up staying.

bailey spent a LONG time this afternoon finding seashells.

she has a LOT of patience

and looks so cute doing it!

and tonight was supposed to be "go out to eat" night.

but we didn't.

we just got some food from a deli place and ate it on our deck!

i love that we haven't gotten in the car since we got here!

this vacation feels so different than the ones the last few years.

i feel the most relaxed of any vacation since we've had kids.

we've spent more hours at the beach than any vacation since we've had kids.

we were on the beach til 6:15 tonight!

the kids have yet to take a bath in the house.

we just shampoo their hair in the outside shower and call them "clean"!

i can't figure out what's so different??

is it the ages of my kids??

it's so weird to have rebekah and joshua just entertain themselves.

for HOURS.

it makes me a little sad at times.

but it's really nice.

{and i still have bailey and sawyer that need me a LOT}

is it because i have 4 kids and i'm just more relaxed??

i don't know.

but it's been great.

really great.

{the cousins are all playing poker tonight. and, well, let's just say i'm better at blogging than playing poker. so here i am...catching you all up! :-)}
