i'm still soaking them up.
megan told me about a good place to hike with kids a couple weeks ago.
so we ventured out there today.
exactly 30 minutes from our house...not bad!
when i told the kids we were going on a hike...about 3 minutes before we left the house...rebekah grabbed 3 paper bags and 3 pieces of paper and made up a scavenger hunt for each of them on the way! all on her own!
it was the PERFECT trail for younger kids.
{and a jogging stroller did fine, too!}
not too hard.
but definitely a trail...lots to do and see!
there were a couple places that we had to cross like this.
the first time they went across the little steps.
the rest...STRAIGHT in the water :-)
i held bailey's hand...pushed the stroller...and walked across the steps :-)
multi-tasking at it's best!
there was even a BIG hill towards the end that got us all working up a sweat!
once we got to the top...then the bottom of that big hill we came out on this...
a waterfall that came down and then if i turn 180 degrees...
this!
we stayed here awhile.
ate our picnic lunch.
let sawyer crawl around {but NOT off the edge!}
once my heart couldn't take him going near the edge anymore...we headed back...
saw some cool creatures!
um...can you see how HUGE this caterpillar is?!? that's next to MY shoe!
running back up the hill on the way back.

Awesome! Glad you guys enjoyed it as much as we did!
so, so fun! what a great week you're having!
oh, and we totally run in the same shoes. and btw, i was totally hard core like you and ran first thing this morning. Yep- 7:55 I left the house.
You can laugh now. I laughed at myself on my way down a hill as I thought of you at 6am. Whew, peeling myself out of bed at 7:25 was really hard!
I don't do early. I do midnight :)
Feel free to keep laughing.
