my beautiful first born.
you are 8 years old today.
you are turning into such a deep, caring, thoughtful person.
you challenge me with how you immediately think of "the poor" whenever you have "extra" of anything.
you are so creative.
always coloring or writing, making a "creation" for someone or something.
you love to run. and swim. and be active.
you just got your hair cut and it's SO cute.
we are so different in some ways.
you are a daredevil.
you love to try new things...like tubing and waterskiing and roller coasters.
i do not love that.
i force myself...but i don't love it.

but we are also very alike in some ways.
we are both "fighters" and very stubborn.
this has made for some interesting days so far in your life.
but i pray that you would know DEEP DOWN INSIDE the things of God to fight for.
and that you would be VERY stubborn for the things you know to be RIGHT and JUST and FAIR.

for how God is molding you.
i pray that i can encourage you as your mom...to become the person God wants you to be...that i will let you go little by little...
but know, no matter what, that i love you
and know, no matter what, that God loves you
