kids' triathlon

that was the funnest, coolest, cutest thing i've done or seen in a LONG time.
it was amazing.
the weather was perfect.
we had NO IDEA how this would go...it was our first one!
but it went GREAT {thanks to some AMAZING women that did a TON of work...}
and we raised around $2500 for MS! {the whole point was to do something to "give back" to the community...to help our kids think of others...}

there are a TON of pictures.
because i figured you'd want to go through it...minute by minute :-)

checking in and getting her body marked...

waiting for the start with some friends...

here is what the different age groups had to do
{Group A - 6 and under; Group B 7-10 yrs old; Group C - 11 and up}

Rebekah was one of the younger ones in her group...but she did totally fine.
you could definitely tell the kids that have "active" lifestyles and those that don't...all our long walks and bike rides paid off!

all lined up and waiting for their riders...

who were all lined up waiting to swim...

here she goes!
she gave me a smile...but seemed quite nervous, too.

putting on her shoes...

this is my favorite one of the day...not sure why...
here she is headed out of transition 1 onto the bike course!

halfway through the bike course...

and in transition 2...parking her bike...

beginning the run
{this picture is from a neighbor...can you see pat taking a picture in the background?? :-)}
he headed to work as soon as she finished...

she ROCKED the run!
NEVER stopped!

and headed into the finish line chute!

yay, rebekah!

they got the coolest medals and tshirts and a bracelet that says, "MS" on it...
{the tshirts and bracelets were donated...the medals were the ONLY part of their entry fee that was taken out...the rest went to MS}

and water and capri-suns and granola bars and freeze pops {all donated by the parents of the swim team}

a huge success all around.
all the kids loved it.
i already had kids asking me, "are we going to do this next year?"
{sawyer didn't love it...but it was 2 hours past his naptime...:-)}

what a great accomplishment for these kids.
and worth every bit of work {and ALL those meetings!} we put into it.
can't wait for next year!
