the canon lens 50mm ef f 1.8 ii
it's a "prime" lens...which means you can't zoom AT ALL.
but it allows you to take good pictures inside with less light {which i need often} so hopefully i'll like it!
here are my first couple pictures with it...
sawyer LOVES milk.
{oh...i haven't even mentioned that he's totally weaned, have i?? last monday was his last milk from me...like, 10 days ago...i wasn't sure the first couple days...and then i just moved on! it was a non-issue for him. he never looked back. i had a harder time than i expected...}
anyways, he drinks milk GREAT from a cup.
but when he's done...he just THROWS the cup across the room!
it's hysterical {and annoying sometimes when it hits my toe!}
and he LOVES to stand...even if he's just holding onto the wall.
LOVES it!

yes, i have my 50 coming. well, it's slightly different since i shoot with a pentax, but essentially the same result. my dad is buying it for me at some point. it'll be fun.
in the meantime i've been faking the effect by racking out my 18-250- did you know you can do that? you crank the zoom to the 200-250 range and it imitates the effect, minus the prime lens light intake. i've been able to have a lot of fun with that.

that's so funny about him throwing the cup (i mean, i'm sure it's not going to be fun forever, but hilarious right now!!) And totally weaned - the last one? UNreal.
