"I believe we learn more from failure than success, but when parents keep kids from failure, our children inevitably end up lacking wisdom."
Jim Schmotzer
pat and i are doing our own little "book club" - in an effort to be more intentional with our time together. we have read a couple books so far. right now we are reading Sacred Parenting by Gary Thomas. it's excellent (we're only on chapter 3). we are reading a chapter a week on our own, and then discussing it at some point during the weekend. all the books we read aren't about parenting, but it is where our heart is many hours of our days! anyways, this is a hard statement. it's hard to "let" your kids fail. but it's good to be reminded that they need to. it's how they learn. and how they gain wisdom.

Oh my goodness! How true is that statement about failure! So many parents are about making sure kids today feel successful and are awarded at the drop of a hat for things that some kids do not know how to handle failure these days. I think I will have to print that quote out and post it on the frig.
thanks for sharing!!!
You should do some "book reviews" for the ones you read so we know what to add to our reading list!
great idea!
