he is eating more and more real food.
i can't wait til we're totally done with baby food!
we're getting there!!
he had a BLAST with chicken and rice the other night!
i am really feeling like we're turning a corner.
getting past the "infant" stage - and moving to a easier stage!
sawyer has been such an easy and fun baby, but he's still been a baby...and they require a LOT!
he's getting easier and even more flexible...
he wakes up anytime between 6:30 and 7:30 am.
he nurses and then eats cereal right away.
he takes an hour morning nap sometime between 8:30 and 11 am (he's totally flexible with that!)
he nurses again anytime between 10 am and noon.
he eats "real food" for lunch around noon and goes down for a 3 hour nap from 1-4 pm.
(he's not flexible on that one - because I'M not flexible on that one! :-))
i get from 2:30-3 pm with rebekah. and then from 3-4 pm with the older 3 kids before sawyer is up again.
he nurses after that nap at 4 pm.
then eats dinner when we do (normally around 6, but anytime between 5 and 7 pm depending on what's going on!)
he nurses again before he goes to bed. normally at 7:30...but anytime between 7 and 8 pm.
then he sleeps til 7ish the next morning!
there you have it.
sawyer at 8 months.
i love how he scrunches his nose to get that rice in :-)
and it took me about 20 minutes to clean all that rice up off him, his highchair and the floor...

Im with you. This age seems so much easier...even when you've had a fairly easy baby. Its nice that they have a little independence.
And yes, when Im done with mashed up baby food I will be so happy!!! Closer every day!
he is ADORABLE! his schedule totally cracked me up...it is almost the EXACT same eating and sleeping schedule that karley is on! only poor karley doesn't get cereal after she nurses in the morning because my mornings are too crazy and i can't figure out how to get it in! (when summer comes, then she will get breakfast! (how flexible is that??!!) so she gets an extra nursing at 10am. but other than that, they are identical!! :) have a super weekend. we are having a gorgeous day here and have been outside all morning because we are supposed to get SNOW this weekend!! i am ready for flip flops (dreading the shorts/bathing suits though)...not boots.
it's always SUCH A sigh of relief to get past the baby food stage to where they can eat what you eat. hip hip hooray - he's such a good boy!!! (And i bet you were finding rice in those leg folds for quite some time!)
You are so lucky, I wish Jaden liked any food with texture, he is by far our most difficult child. The only thing he is flexible with is as soon as you feed him when ever that is, he is a happy as a clam, likes baby jar food (it smells so bad sometimes) but hates anything with texture. Yeah Sawyer! He'll still always be the sweet little boy.
