2 extremes

i'm at 2 extremes.
we had the BEST weekend.
but my heart is very heavy at the same time.
not sure i can even make sense of it enough here...so i don't think i'll try right now.
i'm going to stick with what we physically did and leave the "inside" stuff for a later time.

the weather was a.maz.ing on saturday.
when the kids went down for quiet time i had 2 choices: do chores around the house or go for a run in the weather.
i chose the run - 8 miles. {didn't get it in with the parade and all that morning!}
it was shorts/tank top running weather! got sunburned!! {ooops} it was harder than i anticipated...i normally run in the DARK and not the HEAT for awhile! to run in the scorching middle of the day was quite a difference. but i was glad for the time to think...

had an awesome double date with the young's on sat nite.
so blessed to have them as friends.
so easy to be with them. and fun.

sunday night pat's parents came over to celebrate our birthdays.
it was such a nice time together.

i love this picture...

this morning was a treat.
remi offered for her nanny to watch all our kids so that we could go for a longer run together.
umm...i don't have to wake up early AND i get to run longer? sign me up!
the only glitch was that it was POURING rain.
we still did it.
10 miles in the rain.
such exhilaration.
once we were soaked, it was fine (which took about 2 minutes).
i mean, "socks wet and squishing in our shoes" soaked.
i mean, "i had a waterproof jacket on and was still soaked through to my skin" soaked - does it come in through the neckline or up my sleeves? i don't get it?!?

so, i'm on quite a high from all those circumstances.
yet very weighted down with some other stuff.
wierd place to be.

and now off to figure out a way to make rebekah a "squirrel" costume...maybe i'll figure out my heart later... :-)

COURTNEY!!!! You know better than to do 8 on Saturday AND 10 on Monday!! GIRL! But I know the feeling. it feels so good to get out and run when it's a beautiful day like that....next time remember the sunscreen...and the water!!! And yet I do love a good rain run too!!! :)

Okay, I intentionally avoided the rain run today. Well, not sure if it was intentional. I snoozed the alarm about a dozen times, got out of bed and said, "Oh, it's raining! I couldn't have run anyway!" But I did run Friday afternoon and it was warm outside, and I expected it to be so nice and it was SO HARD. Why? Weird. Anyway, LOVE the photo of Joshua by the cake candles. And bring that heart on over here tomorrow morning and we'll hammer on it some. ;-)
