sometimes you have to create them.
i created one tonight.
the kids each got barnes and noble gift cards for Christmas from Ken and Lynne {thanks!}
we've been saving them for the perfect time.
tonight was it.
it was so fun to follow them around.
to see what caught their eye.
to take in them taking books in.
{did you know i LOVE books?? and book stores?? betcha didn't! ;-)}
oh, she found the fancy nancy books!
look what sawyer found!
{yes, he's laying on the floor of the bookstore. wait til you see what he was doing at dinner!}
stacie - he did the pushup!! :-)
like the shoes, holly?? he gets SO many compliments on them! i love them!
earlier this week, IHOP was giving away free pancakes.
i took the kids there for dinner.
it was CRAZY! TONS of people, kids, etc.
and lots of kids that were wild. and i mean wild.
i was so proud of my kids.
they were very well-behaved. ate all their dinner.
tonight was a reward to them for that.
we made a big deal of it. that we were proud of them.
we spend a LOT of time correcting. and i know that is this "stage"...while they are young.
but it gets old. to me. and i'm sure to them it does too!
so it was nice to praise them!
joshua making his own pizza.
bailey's new thing to say to pat is, "you're my daddy and i'm your daughter."
it's so cute.
sawyer eating the table.
and then "sledding" down the steps in rebekah and bailey's room as we were getting them settled for bed.
i love how much my kids love each other.
they were up there laughing and singing and dancing and coloring for 2 hours.
now all is quiet.
it was such a great evening as a family.
{except for the car ride home when sawyer screamed his head off the whole time. he was SO ready for bed. i just didn't want you to think we don't have "those" moments!! oh, we do...
bailey said, "i'm just so sick of sawyer screaming. can i get out of this car?" as we're speeding down the toll road at 70 miles an hour}
good night.

Books stores are some of my most favorite places to be. With and without kids!
i love your pics from the bookstore - i know that was a perfect night for you! :) love seeing what each of them picked out...love that sawyer is still working on the pushups, even though he's a crawler now! love that you noticed the free food at ihop too - we didn't go, but i saw it in the paper and wondered who would. and i've always wanted to go to uno's with the kids, as i've heard they get to make their own pizza. good for you for rewarding the kids for their behavior. sometimes i think we focus so much on the training part and then forget to make a big deal when they get it right!!! awesome courtnney!
so precious courtney!!! I LOVE you and your family!!!! :) (and that you LOVE books!!)
