tomorrow

he will be 5.
and there will be a birthday post for him then.
but, i told him yesterday that we could have a special birthday lunch today.
(tomorrow we'll be at pat's football game for lunch and will probably bring a picnic which is also special, but just trying to make him feel very loved)
i was, selfishly, hoping he'd want to go to Chick Fil A.
what did he pick?
going to Rebekah's school and eating lunch with her.
ok. sweet and cute.
"so, should we bring Chick fil A to her school?"
no. he wants to BUY the lunch at her school.
that "yummy" pizza.
so that's what we're doing :-)

p.s.
i am literally walking around the house arguing back and forth with my brain.
my brain says,
"i can't do this. i want to scream or cry or something. but i CAN'T do this all day today!"
("this" being just living my life today)
and then, in the next moment, my brain says,
"yes, i can. and i will. and i will do it well."
it's like the "mom" version of the Little Engine That Could.
i think i can, i think i can...

i know that mom train. :)
and i would have been pulling for the big CFA, too. we miss it here! (there's one in a mall in RACINE)
well, at least CFA has a drive-through---maybe for the drive home? :)
love it when siblings appreciate each other so much!

Very sweet of Joshua...very.
And I'm praying for you today...you are where I was yesterday. So at least we know it does pass, or ease up!

School lunch seems to have an allure all its own for some strange reason. I personally hope to never have one again, but the kids enjoy them whenever they get the chance. Nice of you to let him choose today!

it IS the mom version of the story - I love that. I'm not surprised at all at how he'd like to spend his lunch. of course at rebekah's school with her. that boy has a heart the size of texas. sweet joshua alden.
