HARD 9 miles

ran 9 miles this morning.
i ran 10 and 11 miles in December and it was fine. great even.
but i took a few weeks off of long runs ("real" runners were telling me that i might OVERtrain)
so, now i'm building my mileage back up for the half-marathon.
most mornings i lOVE running and have GREAT runs.
they challenge me to the perfect point.
or i feel GREAT and strong.
not so much today.
it was HARD.
the last 2 miles i was trying not to throw up and was just putting one foot in front of the other.
(the hill at 8 miles didn't help...)
but it's ok.
i still did it.
and runs like this are probably good for me too.
just wanted to get it down here that i don't ALWAYS love running or have great runs!
and now i can enjoy the girl scout cookies that just got delivered ;-)

you are hard core! my knees would never let me go that far anymore, so i like reading about you getting to do it!
it's snowing here. wish you could come pound the fluffy 2 inches with me!
i'm going to take the kids in sleds behind me :)

Thanks so much for posting this! I told Chris the other day that maybe I started doing the 3 miles too quick because every time by the end I feel like my heart is going to pound out of my chest. Not quite at throw-up point yet, but so hard. I was worried I was pushing too hard, but maybe not if you experience the same thing sometimes too.

totally been there. some days are just harder than others - but your'e right where you should be!!! Make sure you are drinking - are you taking gatorade to drink part way through? You shouldn't be running more than 5 without some kind of fluids....
