i normally do my "long runs" on saturday morning.
it's not going to work tomorrow.
pat will be at football (they made the playoffs - yay!) from 6:30 am-4 pm (if they keep winning...which we hope for!)
so i have to do my long run tonight.
whenever (?) pat gets home from work.
i have a hard time carrying on a conversation at that time of day. much less running 11 miles.
and you're supposed to "rest" the day before a long run.
but i still ran 5 miles and swam 1 mile yesterday, since i wasn't running until tonight.
(and because i just really am addicted to exercising.)
so, i will attempt to "rest" today.
while being a mom to 4 kids.
on my knees cleaning the floor.
and the dance party i just jumped around in bailey's room for a few minutes ago...
not so much rest.
well, just pray that i can have a good run tonight.
without a rest day beforehand!
{i know. some of you are thinking, "you signed up for this!" i'm not complaining. i love it. it's just going to be a challenge tonight. oh, and it's supposed to be really windy - my least favorite weather element, and cold and rainy! when it's over i'm going to feel SO great! it'll be a great accomplishment!!}
any tips on what i should eat for lunch??
i normally eat a salad.
but that's probably not going to be enough for 11 miles, huh??

Hmm...I have a coupon for a free Quizno's sub, and we could do that. Or California Tortilla still has double points...a burrito with beans would be a good protein boost for a run. I'm up for that too. Oh, wait. Were you talking about a suggestion for something you could do on your own at home? LOL!
Megan is right, anything with lots of protein. You could still do your salad if you add chicken breast and avacado. Or you could do some pasta, I have heard runners eat the pasta for the carbs before hand.
i'll be thinking and praying for you during your run! WIND is the WORST! it was so windy last Sunday for my recovery run that i felt like i was running in slow motion! :) i run 11 tomorrow too and am already worrying about it b/c it's supposed to be rainy...really rainy. hopefully it'll be OK. good luck and make sure you let us know how it goes! :) and yes, salad is not enough. i sure hope you ate something more than that! you do know you should be eating a lot right??? training, nursing...hello!!! i eat SO much, but i have to b/c i'm SO hungry from all of this. just eat 'good' stuff...'good for you stuff' that is. :) oh, and i'm gonna get back to you on your email. had a lot of company in this week but i WILL get back to you
oh courtney - had i known you were running tonight, I would have been praying ALL day!!! You need protein & CARBS today for lunch for that energy. A salad won't cut it! AND you need to plan for some kind of water or gatorade during your run. Praying that it's a GREAT one! It's almost time to taper down - is this your last long one? Or will you do 12 first?
i was going to say avocado.
but it's not lunchtime anymore.
i usually go with half an avocado for lunch on days like that :) and nuts and fruit. or maybe some eggs.
have a great run!
