tomorrow is the last $10 Friday.
do you know what we've (including every single one of you that has given...much OR little) done so far??
we've raised $35,000!!!!
7 wells!!!
7 villages will have CLEAN water.
that's HUGE!
and tomorrow is the last push.
let's bring it home.
the goal is 3 more wells...10 total.
this was taken from Jody's blog:
"Why is there a disconnect between what people say and what people do?
Generally speaking, are social networks really that powerful if they don’t lead to action?
Has the MySpace and Facebook generation started substituting talking about good things with actually doing good things?
When does the online generation lose credibility when the offline generation still carries the load financially and with their time?
I don’t have data. Maybe my perception is just based on poor anecdoctal evidence. Or, maybe the online generation is all talk and no bite.”
(Tony Morgan)
Let’s not let this be true of us.
Not this network.
Not these people.
Lots of Water talk.
Lots of Water blogs.
And we need lots of Water ACTION.
Let’s put our resources where our mouths are.
We bought the T-shirts and the ornaments. We posted the Water logo
And now we give.
Give out of our wealth and out of our poverty.
We are quick to join causes. Quick to talk about things we believe in.
And let us create a new reputation.
One that follows through with action.
And when they take notice.
It will be grass roots.
It will be mothers.
It will be fathers.
It will be children.
It will be people.
Not profoundly wealthy or powerful.
Just people raising awareness.
And then acting.
Giving.
And changing the world.
Let it be us.
Water For Christmas.
You know what to do.
Let’s finish this thing."
**just in case you think i'm WAY more talented than i am, i did NOT make this video. jody's sister-in-law, Kari, made it.
water has changed me.
the thoughts that go through my head when i start my kids bath, or wash my hands will never be the same.
my kids are talking about it.
i'm wearing it :-)
thanks, jody, for your passion. for starting this and for pushing us on and following through (and cassie and amy.)
it's been so neat to see the many, many people behind all of this.
it's been awesome to see God work. and He has. whether we reach "the goal" or not.
but we TOTALLY can.
so, don't forget!
tomorrow is $10 Friday!
