last day at the farm!!!

today was the last day at the farm.
instead of going to church, we headed out to the country :-)
the Goetz' (they are the family that initially TOLD us about the farm!) called a couple days ago and asked if we wanted to spend the day there together.
i'll be honest.
these days, church is HARD. we do it. and sometimes are blessed immensely.
but we sometimes ask ourselves why we bother going to church with a newborn - it's just hard.
so, it didn't take too much to convince us that this was the better option for our family today.

the Goetz have 5 kids (and are expecting their 6th)
our kids LOVE their kids.
and we LOVE Jason and Bridget.
so it works very well to spend time together with their family!

within minutes they were all pushing each other around in these wheelbarrows (meant for pumpkins)

then we headed over to "P Rex" (get it?? "P" - PUMPKIN?? :-))
he was very hungry and ate a few pumpkins.
bailey made me take her back over to him later in the day.
she asked me, "will he eat me?"
she REALLY thinks he's REAL!

then they threw pumkins off this tall thing!
hilarious!!!

can you see the pumpkin falling??

then we played.
went down slides.
rode the pedal cars.
and made the decision that we were having SO much fun, we'd forget naps!
we (I) NEVER do that. (anyone that knows me, KNOWS this!)
the Goetz' convinced us it would be worth it.
and it was.

we ate lunch.
watched pumpkins get smashed on the zipline.
smashed some of our pumpkins by the silo.
talked.
laughed.
played football.
what a GREAT day spent with family and friends!

the kids all slept on the way home.
and i think they'll ALL be going to bed early tonight.
but it was nice to be away from my lists for so many hours!

we miss church and Jasper is 15 months old. We do it this way... one of us stays home so he can nap and listen to a sermon online and the other takes Eli to church. We will do this until Jasper doesn't have a morning nap anymore... it makes it much easier on us!

Glad you had so much fun
