fields of the fatherless

pat and i both just finished reading fields of the fatherless by tom davis.
it was excellent.
we've had some good conversations about it and i love that.
i'm still processing the book. it makes me think we "should" do all kinds of things.
but the thing that pat said in our last conversation that i keep thinking about is, "we need to keep looking. we can't see what God wants of us - whether it be paying for someone's groceries at the grocery store, or hugging a friend in need - unless we have our eyes open."
i read the book first, and asked him to read it, and he did...that week.
i'm mentioning it, though, because the author is in ethiopia right now and has been blogging about it.
you should check it out.

and keep your eyes open.

the last couple of times you have mentioned a book I have jumped on board and it has either changed my life for good, deeply encouraged me or been passed on to change a friends life for good - so...I'm thinkin' I need to get this one ;-)
