she didn't intend it to touch me where i'm at - her perspective in saying these words is totally different from where i am - yet God used it to encourage MY heart where I'M at...
"Because unlike much of Christianity today, we need to understand that God’s aim is not a conflict-free home. A suffering-free life was never in His plan.
So rather than shrink from it or be shocked by it, we just need to be prepared. Prepared to embrace suffering if we have to. Prepare to enter into our child’s pain and have conflict with our child.
Just because it’s hard and the children struggle does NOT mean God’s fingerprints are not ALL over it. He calls parents to times like these."
thanks, Jody. keep sharing. we're all "with" you and praying for you (and being encouraged and challenged by you)!

Wow! This is a totally great reminder, and I hope one you have taken to heart. Don't think that you are supposed to be 100% on top of everything all the time. Pregnant or not pregnant, it is just not possible. And as this post reminds us, God KNOWS that it is not possible...HE was the only perfect one. And his perfection did not revolve around his daily tasks, but in how he treated and loved others. I doubt he made the perfect table when Joseph was working with him in his young years...but the perfection is not in the result...it is in the methods. And I know you fail at times, but I also know your heart is in the right place. Go easy on you for a few days. Make sure God is speaking to you and not Satan trying to tear you down.
So so true. That just because it's HARD, doesn't mean we've failed, or done something wrong, or that our children are horrible, or that we've lost it all. So so true.
Amen!!! All I read about in the bible is about how we are to suffer as Christ suffers... all the joy is for when Christ comes or remembering him and when we are in heaven... so to think of life without it or that our "favorite little sinners" are going to be anything but "our favorite little sinners" (this is what I like to call my boys) is not biblical. This is why being a parent is sooo hard!!!
