the farm

we are members of a local farm. so you will be hearing about "the farm" from now through the fall. what this means is that every week - starting in June - they will deliver a huge box of whatever crops are ready to our house. it also means we can go to the farm and pick whatever is ready at any time. and it ALSO means that we can go there any time and play (there's SO much for the kids to do - animals, slides, huge jumping trampoline thing). and it also means we get to go to all the festivals that they have! (the strawberry festival is next weekend.)

we went to the farm this morning. they built this new thing where you can sift out "special" rocks from this water. bailey just loved playing in the water - she was soaked.

on the hayride - we saw the strawberries that will be ready for next weekend!

this is "Farmer Bob" - he's the man of the place. he has 6 kids. 18 grandkids. he loves to be with the members of the farm. he rode the hayride with us. and he's full of great information about farming. he's been doing it for 30 years! (and it's been in his family for generations)
check out that peacock!
this is the trampoline thing..
after a picnic lunch, we all came home for a nice nap. now pat's painting again...he's the best.

How cool is that!? I would love it. We're planting a garden...it's something, but not nearly as great as access to a real farm and all its fresh produce. Enjoy!!

ugh. we have a 'pumpkin patch' (more like a theme park) here that just put in one of those blobs - I know you couldn't 'enjoy' it but really, you aren't missing anything more than a woozy stomach! I had fun on it but was queezy the rest of the day!
