lots of it going on around here. by my 6 year old that can't handle school and a play date in the same day and went to her room for the rest of the night last night at 6:30 pm. by my 2 year old who can't handle anything.
but why should i expect THEM to handle their lives...when i just spent 20 minutes crying on my bed because i can't handle mine?? i got rebekah to school, put joshua in front of the TV, and bailey in her room with some books. and shut myself in my room and just sobbed. feeling a bit better now.
i'm just overwhelmed. i can't stay on top of anything - cleaning my house, meals, my kids - spending time with them AND disciplining them, the grocery budget (has anyone else noticed how much the cost of groceries is going up??), my eating, the piles of mail and junk that come in each day, keeping up with friends and family, and on and on. it's all normal stuff. that i can normally handle. please, someone tell me i'll feel able to handle this stuff again someday - when i'm not pregnant.

I promise it will be OK and you will be able to handle it, you need to put your super mom cape away. It's a hard lesson to learn, but some day (not anytime soon) it will all gett better, and when your not so emotional you'll be able to see things in a different light. I'm so tired and overwhelmed, I left tupperwear all over my kitchen floor over night because I was too tired to clean up Madison's mess and went to bed and had a fresher head in the morning. Sometimes you just gotta let it go.
You'll get your life, body and mind back in 10 weeks.
This is temporary.
I know the feeling - its like, lets just get on with life already!
YES - you will be on top of things once again. YES, we have all had this same out of control feeling. YES, food prices have definitely gone up! :) YES, kids are exhausting. BUT - it's a new day! A fresh start over. And sometimes we all have to go in our rooms and cry for a bit and just get it out - not that it makes it better right away, but it feels a bit better, doesn't it! :) Some things you may just have to let go of for a bit until after the baby comes and things settle back in. And they will!!! I love you!
are you asking other mothers in general or mothers of 4 or more kids?
(very important distinction.)
holly, i guess i need to know it from moms of 4 or more kids. since that's what i'm going to be. i hadn't really thought about it til you asked.
Like I said this morning I need a vacation from my kids! We all feel this way more often than not. However many of us aren't not as willling to admit it to anyone. Hang in there it will get better
