our weekend
Katy gave Rebekah these "kids cookbooks" for Christmas (i think - maybe her birthday!) and she LOVES looking through them (well, you know, since i'm such a great cook i guess ;-))
she's marked all the ones she thinks look good. so, i told her we'd come up with a meal together and i'd get the ingredients and she could make us dinner. sounds good, huh??
here's the menu:
Macaroni Alfredo with beef (we added the meat to the recipe)
Salad
Garlic Bread
and Smore's Bars for dessert.
The alfredo, bread, and dessert were recipes from her books.
Friday night was the night. i bought the ingredients friday. we made the dinner friday night. she got 2/3 through the dinner and got in trouble and couldn't finish - so i did. but it turned out pretty good (3 kids helping cook is always fun...on friday evening after a long week and daddy's still not home...you can imagine.) anyways, we made it through and enjoyed a nice dinner together in our porch!
bailey loved dessert!
saturday was beautiful. pat had a football game. did some chores outside. and then headed to Pat's parents for another birthday celebration! spent the evening hanging out and eating in their porch. it was relaxing and fun! thanks, Cassada's!

HOORAY!!! Tell Rebekah that I am SO proud of her!! That's exactly what I had envisioned when I saw those kids cookbooks! I know how they all love to stand at your feet (or on their chairs) to help, and how GREAT that now she's at the age where she really can!!! :) Keep putting her to work - maybe once a week can be her night to come up with dinner!
