i know this. that kids really take everything you say and do (mostly DO) in...even the stuff you don't want them to see.
in the last couple days, my kids have each said something to show this in the area of mine (and Pat's) running...one morning, Rebekah asked me when she woke up, "how many miles did you run this morning?"; Joshua put some strings on him (kind of like an ipod would be - from your ears to your arm) and said he was going running; Bailey found a watch (imitating the thing i wear that tracks my distance) and put it on and said she was going running. it's good. it's good that they see their parents taking care of themselves.
but it also made me think. i have to make sure, especially with Rebekah getting older, that it's healthy habits. that it's not an "obsession". i have to watch how often i choose to eat a salad instead of the "real" meal. that night a couple weeks ago when i made pat a fun dinner for "date night", Rebekah asked me what we were eating. i told her. she said, "you're not just eating salad?" it stopped me in my tracks.
they are picking it ALL up, they are taking it ALL in. whether i want them to or not. it's sure good accountability, isn't it??

It's SOOO true - they are watching everything. It's so good for them to see healthy habits, but you want to be sure that's what they see - and not an obsession, like you said.
