picked rebekah up from school, walking home and she says,
"mom, did you get us presents?"
me: "for what?"
Rebekah: "for Valentine's day. my friends got presents for valentine's day."
me: "no. i spent an hour this morning cleaning all the junk out of your room. you don't need anymore stuff."
really. presents for valentine's day. for my kids??? people, come on! you're killing me!

my trick every year: a small heart shaped box of chocolates...this year it was full of kisses...they think they have died and gone to heaven...
i splurged and spent 99 cents on each girl and got them each their OWN set of water color paints (i threw the other one away last week...it was gross!) They were so excited because now they don't have to share!! i did splurge for our family and bought strawberries (they are so expensive right now) to make chocolate covered strawberries for dessert...a huge hit! glad that you are feeling better...that should be gift enough to your family! :)
UGH. I can remember my friends telling me about their presents too...and thinking it was stupid....so funny that she's at that age now to be asking about things that her FRIENDS are doing! Please!
