put all the Christmas decorations away last evening except the tree and the outside lights. it feels SO good.
Pat took ALL 3(!) kids to work with him today - for a half-day - they were mostly excited about packing their lunches! i just cleaned for 2 hours straight, with music blasting and my brain all to myself. i know, maybe not what you would choose if you got a few hours to yourself - but i loved it. i'm headed to the gym now and then maybe i'll get Chick-Fil-A for lunch (i know, i know, i'm crazy....it's really these little things that i love - i don't need much).
pat and i have really been "at odds" lately - for no reason in particular, i think just all the stress. i love that we've been married long enough that i know it will pass...we even have joked about how we're "about to kill each other." but, now that it's all over, we're back to "connected" (he loves it when i use that word.) we had a great evening together last night...and i'm looking forward to another one tonight!
life is feeling normal again. it's good.

Hi Courtney... I was thinking of taking down our Christmas decorations as well and thought maybe it was too early... but you have encouraged me. We live in such a small space, it would be great to have more room!!!
And can I tell you how much I ENVY you for being able to go to Chick fila... I would give anything to go there and enjoy a yummy sandwhich and lemonade! *dreaming* Too bad I can't have that shipped here! *sigh* When we come back on furlough...we should meet there for lunch... can't wait! I got your Christmas card today and loved the picture, thanks for sharing with us!!! I love keeping up with you on the blog.
oh courtney, i TOTALLY understand! i HAVE to have all the christmas decorations down the day after christmas too. everyone always calls me a scrooge but now i know someone who feels the same! yay!!!
Good idea sending the kids to work with Pat!!! I bet they were a sight!!! Doesn't it always feel so good to get the stuff put away, house cleaned up? Sounds like a very healing, restful (in a weird, busy sort) of day!
