SUCH a great weekend!

Thanksgiving weekend is really one of my favorite weekends of the year. it's a 4 day weekend, but just 1 day is spent with "the holiday" (as opposed to Christmas where you just get 1 1/2 days and it seems like we spend 5 days celebrating Christmas with all the different family combinations). and Thanksgiving doesn't have the distraction of materialism that Christmas does. anyways, we had a great one.
a great day hosting the meal at our house!
and the rest of the weekend was so relaxing. played games together, watched our videocamera footage from the last 6 months or so (the kids LOVE that), pat and i went out on a date and also did some Christmas shopping for the kids (actually, we got most of it done!), had dear friends - The Gorrie's - over for dinner, took some nice naps, got a few things done - but really was trying not to look at my "lists." it truly was a relaxing, refreshing weekend. i'm normally so excited to decorate for Christmas the morning after Thanksgiving, but i just wasn't this year, so we didn't. i might start this week and we'll get our tree this coming weekend.
Jenn and Dave Gorrie with our kids (their son, Jackson, was asleep upstairs by this point!)
this was today. as i was bringing all the groceries in, Joshua and Bailey decided to "build a road" on the sidewalk. this meant - shovel the mulch from the yard onto the sidewalk to form a road. don't worry, Pat, it's all cleaned up! isn't Bailey's ponytail the cutest???

Hi Courtney, I am glad you had such a nice weekend!!! Unfortunately it isn't a long holiday for us, because Zach still has to work Friday (or at least from 3-10pm) because Hungarians don't celebrate Thanksgiving. But it was still a fun weekend. It is so fun reading about all your guests and family celebrating this time with you. It must be such a blessing having friends and family nearby!!! I love reading about it, thanks for sharing!!!

How fun to have dinner with Jenn& Dave!!! I'm sure they loved it! Yes, it's so great having the long weekend - but not so many "events" to busy it up. Sounds like you guys had a great family weekend. And yes, Bailey's ponytail is the CUTEST!
